
Dr Gillian Holdsworth
Director
Dr Gillian Holdsworth is a public health expert medical doctor with advanced training in epidemiological methods, monitoring and evaluation.
Gillian was the public health lead for women and children's services, health protection and the educational supervisor in the joint Lambeth and Southwark public health department, London, UK, April 2013 - July 2016. She worked for NHS Southwark (London, UK) as the public health lead for cancer screening, women and children’s services and sexual health.
She has represented the Faculty of Public Health on the International Health Links Funding Programme selection panel, a joint Department of Health and DFID initiative, to improve links between the NHS and health services in developing countries.
Her international experience includes Nepal with the Britain Nepal Medical Trust, Lesotho with DfID, London with Health Unlimited and New York with the International Trachoma Initiative.
A fluent Nepali speaker, she now chairs the Britain Nepal Medical Trust and in 2007 walked across Nepal from the western border at Hilsa in Humla to the eastern border with Sikkim in Taplejung.
