Will my partner or I be able to feel the ring during sex?

You can keep the ring in when you have sex. You probably won’t be able to feel it.

Your partner might be able to feel it, but it’s made of a soft, bendy material. So it won’t hurt them or be uncomfortable. And it won’t damage your ring or stop it from working if your partner does feel it during sex.

Most people who use the contraceptive ring aren’t bothered by it and say their partners don’t mind it either.

If the ring ever feels uncomfortable, try to push it a little further into your vagina. Most people do not feel it once it’s in the right place.

It’s not possible that the ring could get lost inside you. Your cervix stops it from moving any further into your body. But, if you can’t feel it with your fingers and you know it hasn’t come out, it’s a good idea to talk to your GP or local sexual health service to get it checked.
