Is Cerelle the same as Cerazette?

Cerelle® and Cerazette® are both types of the progestogen only pill (also known as the ‘mini pill’). They contain the same amount of the hormone and have exactly the same effects on the body.

The name on the packet of a medication is often a brand name given by the manufacturer.

In the UK there are only three different types of progestogen-only pills (POPs), which contain either norethisterone, levonorgestrel or desogestrel.

All available progestogen-only pills licensed for use in the UK contain one of these hormones at a fixed quantity.
