How to take Cerazette

Cerazette is a type of progestogen only pill (also known as the ‘mini pill’). You need to take 1 pill every day.

There are 28 pills per pack, and you do not take a break between packs. These pills must be taken within the same 12 hour period each day to be effective.

Choose a convenient time in the day to take your first pill, and continue to take it close to that time every day.

How to come off Cerazette

After you stop taking Cerazette, the hormones will leave your body within a couple of days. But it depends on each individual as to when you'll start to ovulate again. It can take up to 3 months for some people.

If you stop taking Cerazette and don’t want to get pregnant, remember to use another form of contraception.

Everyone will react slightly differently to coming off the pill. You might experience irregular bleeding or other side effects whilst your hormone levels settle. These will usually subside after a few weeks or months but if you are concerned, you should speak to your GP.
