How to prevent pregnancy one week after unprotected sex?

You can prevent pregnancy using the morning after pill during the first 5 days after unprotected sex.

If you're concerned that you could be pregnant, you can do a pregnancy test from the first day of a missed period, or if your periods are irregular, at least 21 days after unprotected sex.

If your pregnancy test is positive and you are not sure you want to be pregnant, you can discuss this with your GP, family planning clinic, or sexual health clinic.

If you have had unprotected sex within the last 5 days, you may be able to prevent a pregnancy by using emergency contraception.
