Do you ovulate with Zelleta?

The progestogen only pill Zelleta is made with 75mcg of the hormone desogestrel.

It works by stopping ovulation for most people, thickening the mucus in the cervix which stops sperm from entering the uterus, and thins the lining of the uterus which would stop a fertilised egg from attaching.

For a small number of people with uteruses (about 4 in 10) they may still ovulate on the progestogen only pill. They will still be protected from pregnancy.
