Do instant STI tests exist?

Instant STI tests do exist, however they may not be as accurate in identifying people with an infection as tests which are sent to the laboratory.

This means that a person who has taken an instant test may be given the all-clear when they actually do have an infection.

Therefore STIs are more accurately diagnosed by undertaking a swab and/or blood test and sending these samples to a laboratory for analysis.
