Can I use tampons or a menstrual cup if I’m using the ring?

You can use tampons and menstrual cups with your contraceptive ring. Just be careful when you take out a tampon or cup. Make sure the ring doesn’t come out at the same time. It might get moved, but you can reposition it by just pushing it back into your vagina. Make sure your hands are clean before you try.

If your ring does come out when you’re changing a tampon or cup, give the ring a wash with plain cold or lukewarm water before you put it back.
