As part of routine antenatal care, pregnant women are offered a blood test to screen for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B.
It is safe to have a test for other STIs in pregnancy.
If you think you or your partner may have an STI it is important to get a test as soon as possible. STIs can affect your baby’s health during pregnancy and after birth.
