How can we help?

What does it mean when you get a non reactive test for HIV?

A non-reactive HIV test result means that the HIV antibodies have not been found in your blood. If you have taken this test at least one month after possible exposure to HIV, and you have received a non reactive result, then you do not have HIV.

If you are concerned that you may have been exposed to HIV within the last month then we recommend that you repeat the HIV test. This is because it can sometimes take up to one month for HIV antibodies to show up in the lab test, so a test is only accurate if it is taken at least one month after potential exposure to HIV.
