Can Zelleta stop periods?
Zelleta is a 12 hour progestogen only pill (POP) which means that it has to be taken within the same 12 hour window each day to be effective.
In some people, it will prevent the ovaries from releasing an egg each month (ovulation) and therefore stop you going through your usual menstrual cycle. After 12 months of use, approximately half of people find that their periods stop altogether or they have infrequent bleeding; for others, their periods may become more irregular, lighter, heavier or more frequent.
